Hi all,

I recently built on a msi x99a sli plus. I got a few LED fans for it I have one more case fan than I do sysfan headers. So naturally, I plugged my corsair af120 into the cpufan header.

Its gone one speed and one speed only. ~1600rpms. I've tried changing the profile in command center and the bios but it just ignores any changes. The other fans are all behaving according to profile, including cpufan1.

Any ideas for a quick fix until I can get a hub/controller?

That's not a PWM fan, is it? Unless your board's BIOS allows for 3-wire fan speed control on the 4-wire CPU FAN header, it will always run at full speed. That's a PWM header.

Btw, where's your CPU cooler's fan plugged into? Did you use a splitter on the CPU FAN header?

The board has two cpufan headers and 3 sysfan headers. Kind of odd I guess. I kind of figured it was a voltage or control issue of some kind but I kept reading that case fans would follow the cpufan profile if on that header. I actually have another fan in the rear that I can only power with the psu if I wanted so I need a controller of some kind anyhow.
