I'm in the process of picking out new case fans for my computer and was wanting some advice on how many and where to position them. I have a Cooler Master CM690 III v.2 White case and I have mounting space for:

2x140mm/2x120mm fans at the front
2x140mm/2x120mm fans at the top
1x120mm fan at the back

Was wondering if I should fill each of those spots, and also with exhaust or intake fans. Thank you very much!

Solution
It's not necessary to fill every fan spot unless you want to or like the noise. The front and rear fan included will probably be sufficient. But if you want to add more, the rule of thumb is front, bottom, side intake... top, rear exhaust. That can vary if you have a water cooling system.

Alright thank you very much, just going to see how it plays out and buy more fans if I require better cooling. Thanks once again.
