Hello, my current case is a zalman s4 plus (https://www.zalman.com/EN/Product/P...archCategory3=-99&searchKey=&searchWord=#none).
It has 2 fans in the front panel and 1 in the rear.
They are attached with a molex into my psu.
The problem is that sometimes in the day they start to be super loud without any particular reason.
It doesn't even happen when i use my pc for gaming, it looks like it's a random thing.
Some days instead if i use my pc full load for example rendering a video, it's super quite, how's that possible?
Can you guys help me to find a solution for this problem?
Should i buy some adapter molex -> 4 pin in order to connect all the fans to the motherboard and control the speed?
Should i buy new fans?
Im a newbie about the cooling world, thanks for every reply!
PS: sorry for my poor english

Solution
I see. Try to disconnect the case fans one by one when it gets loud again to try and identify which is the culprit. One of the fans might just be going bad.

how about your cpu and gpu fans? Have you checked their temps?
These loud fans you are describing are all connected to the psu?

please describe the noise, is it like the fan speed going higher? A grinding noise?

if it sounds like the fan speed is going higher then it would be a very strange situation indeed, since it is connected to a power source with constant voltage it shouldn’t ramp up and down… unless somethings terribly wrong with your psu.

try disconnecting the fans one at a time and see if the issue persists.

Ye it's like the fans are spinning super fast.
You mean disconnecting one by one while the pc is running and the noise is high?
In order to check which one is the problem or if it's the psu

I meant disconnecting one fan then running the pc to find out which one is the culprit. But yeah you can do it while its running.

Do you also feel the fans blowing harder when this noise happens?

Solution
I'll try what you said this evening, i can't right now
i bought an arctic freeze 34 esports duo for my cpu and everything it's fine (ofc it's not that is causing the loudness cause i can remote control it and put to 0%, literally stops spinning and still the loud noise persists)
Yes i did, they are pretty standard i guess
Cpu temp in gaming: 65-70 °C
Gpu temp in gaming: 70 °C

Well those temps are pretty standard for me too i guess; low, even. But i live in a hot climate, plus tend to set my fan speeds low.

Oh you could also check the psu fan too. Ive had one before where the fan would go haywire for no reason.

Hello, i'm still alive. The fans are not making noises for now so i have to wait until it does, i'll make sure to update this post and try what you suggested whenever they start to speed up and make noise!

I managed to do the "test" when the fan were super loud and it's definetely the rear fan that is causing the problem. I'll try to change it and see if in the next days happens again! I'll make sure to update the post!
