Question Case fan turning off

So a few months ago my GPU cooler crapped out it was a Sapphire HD 7770 Vapor X.
As i could not afford a new GPU i tried doing this,

Now the fan which i have used to cool my Gpu turns off suddenly effectively thermal throttling my Gpu.

Any help is appreciated,
