Case Fans and CPU Fans

I would like to upgrade my fan on my Hyper 212, possibly have 2 fans on it. Am I looking at just the normal 120mm case fans or do I need to be looking else-where? Newegg only has 1 fan under CPU fans for 120mm listed.

Also, my Antec 300 still has the one side slot to put a fan in. I would like to put one there. What am I looking for in a fan when I am comparing them? Noise does not matter.

Some people have said more fans isn't always better. I am buying these because I just realized I had some extra money in Paypal. Unless doing this will decrease performance, I am fairly set on getting the fans.. Unless someone could suggest something better spend with $42.90 >.<

I have an Antec 300 Illusion so it came with the 2 front fans as well. I put this coolermaster fan on the side panel and its great. If you dont have the front fans I highly recommend getting some. If you dont mind the lights I would get one of these two. Oh and your hyper 212 takes a 120x120x25mm fan, which all 3 of the fans I recommended are. So they will work on your case as well as your Hyper 212.

If you plan on adding the side panel fan, I would highly recommend adding a filter to it as well. Especially if your place is really dusty. My place gets pretty bad and I have to clean out the filters every other week.

Yeah. They are all the same. You just want to make sure that the fan will fit, by looking at its size. When I looked up the Hyper 212, it said it had 120x120x25mm fans on it. 120x120 is the size of the square and the 25mm is the depth, which is the standard depth for most fan. But really you could probably fit any depth of fan on there from the slim 15mm to those thick 38mm, it just may require different screws or a different mounting method.

In your case both 212 and the 212+ use clips for the fans and as far as I can tell, you could put any depth of a 120x120 fan on the 212's as long as it fits doesn't bump into anything. So just go to newegg or where ever and pick out a 120mm fan that you like

They are a little expensive , but they are pretty quiet. The different models balance air flow against noise.

Basically yes, but are you absolutely positive that noise is not a factor? Have you ever heard a fan that is rated at 40+ db? This Scythe 120x38mm fan is rated at 46 db and in the reviews, people compare the noise of this fan to a vacuum cleaner or a hair dryer. Putting 2 or more of these in a case would result in you having to turn your speakers up to ridiculously high levels.

I am considering that, but replacing 1 with the Antec tricool blue led...just because it would look better, for $5 more with the same performance >.<

Those would be identical to the rest of the 120mm fans in the case. I don't if they actually meet their specs. My coolermaster moves more air than they do and it's rated at 69 CFMs, while they are rated at 79.

That is the exact coolermaster fan that I have, only my doesn't have LEDs. So it should be fine. As far as the other question, I'm not sure. I have been trying to decide this myself... Of course if you went all out and bought some nice fans I'm sure it would help, but whether it is worth spending the money I don't know...

Forgot to ask one thing..

When the CPU cooler has two fans on it.. Should both of them face inward into the heat sink or should one face in and the other out or both out? lol

You want one to face in and one to face out. If they both face out or in there wouldn't be much airflow on the heatsink as the 2 fans would be competing with each other.

So basically you want them to blow air in the same direction. A push/pull method and preferably to blow that hot air at the rear (or top fan, depending on how your heatsink is positioned) so that it all goes out the back of the case and doesn't disrupt the cases overall air flow.
