Hello

I can't find one with part picker that features both of the following (they come with USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A instead of Gen 2 Type-C):
  • USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C
  • USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C
I also look only for cases <100 price, and that come with 2-3 fans in front, and the small fan in the back. Only mismatch is that they come with USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A instead of Gen 2 Type-C

I can't see one with
or

Help?

Is USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A the same as USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C? Meaning I can get a case with USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and is compatible with this motherboard's USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C?

I google and it appears so: "
Is USB 3.2 Gen 1 the same as USB-C?

USB Type-C and USB 3.1, USB 3.2, USB4 and USB4 V2 Explained

Both USB Type-A and USB Type-C connectors are used to facilitate 5 Gbps and 10 Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen 1 and Gen 2) connections, and USB Type-C is also used to facilitate the 20 Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen 2×2), 40 Gbps (USB4), and 80 Gbps (USB4 V2) connections."

I also looked at: https://www.onlogic.com/company/io-hub/usb-type-c-and-usb-3-1-explained/

and it seems so. Confirm please?

It should also be compatible with Cooler Master MASTERLIQUID ML240L RGB V2

P.S. Asus has a specialized case at about 150 which is a bad price

I've chosen a few candidate cases (ATX, front+back fans, supports 240mm radiator for liquid cooling):
45 https://www.amazon.co.uk/CiT-Mid-To...BSSFKSC/ref=psdc_430498031_t2_B07KGSJRC3?th=1
90 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BCR6BZT?tag=pcp0f-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
89 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B31GFVKS?tag=pcp0f-21&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1

But I have to look more. Still reading, still confused...

From what I see USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C I need is not compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A I am offered on all cases I've seen. On the other hand I appear to have no use for USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C... unless I use it for an external SSD, and I am already buying an internal SSD and have no use for externals / portables...

Also, what't the point of an external SSD on a 20GB /s connection, when even the internal SSD can only reach 4.4-7.0 GB/s tops? They say that's one of the fastest too. From what I read the internal SSD is faster as it should be

I say, technology these days is silly

I think I'm good with Type A USB. I have a 2TB external hard drive for backups for it, other than that, boot and diagnosis sticks, nothing else. Going to get a cheap case as described above. Worst case, I have to return it and might lose the shipment cost
