Hello, I was hoping somebody could provide some insight here:
I recently sold the graphics card from my PC having upgraded (it was an Inno3D Geforce GTX 1070) and shortly after the purchaser initiated a refund request. They posted:
We connected the graphics card to my computer (while unplugged), and upon powering up the computer, we noticed the pc wasn't picking it up. We unplugged it and plugged it back in. This time when we turned on the computer, 3 sparks exploded out of the powersupply and fried my motherboard, this gpu, and my power supply. This part made my functioning computer break, as well as the part not working in the first place. We request a 100% refund, we can mail the part back to the seller (we aren't paying for shipping)
I've never heard of a graphics card failing so spectacularly before. Could anyone suggest why? My thought is that in such a situation the PSU would be the culprit.
