I have a choice to spend most of my remaining budget on a case and fans or on storage. I have $300 dollars left in my budget and I plan on going with all SSD storage. Should I buy a cheaper case or go with less storage?

You could go with a 1TB SSD for the main disk (OS, apps & games) and a 3TB-4TB HDD for your files and backup.
It is convenient to have the most access data on your SSD.
It isn't necessary for data you won't be accessing very often.
That way you will have $$ for case and storage.
