so, I had an Alienware aurora r12. i say had because i wanted to case swap due to the CPU reading 90+ C though everything worked fine no bottle neck etc ,
which I did the vram heatsink plus corsair h60 water cooler everything has been fine for the past year till now

so, I brought the Hyte y60 case swapped everything and to find the front panel connector for the Hyte y60 is not compatible with the motherboard Alienware provided.
so, i took the bottom from the Alienware and added to the Hyte y60 everything turned on no problem minus the display no picture though everything was on and stayed on for hours.
i then checked all the parts one by one tried every possible fix and nope conclusion the motherboard died after case swap -_- went to buy a new one and well would have to order one best buy or any local store no longer carry's 11th gen mobos -_-

end result said screw the Alienware I had a Ryzen 7 5700g laying around from my wife's old pc, so I brought a new motherboard the msi b550
I then brought a new cooler specifically the corsair 150i elite caplax 360 mm got new ram 64 gb kit corsair ddr 4 3200 two sticks dual channel an a new PSU corsair rm850x only thing i kept from the Alienware at this point was the rtx 3070 and the 2tb nvme which my os was on so didn't do a fresh install deleted the Alienware drivers and installed the new drivers needed flashed bios etc. so I build the new pc into the Hyte y 60 everything booted and works that being said

the temperature is once again stuck at 95C. [vulgarity redacted] I checked the temp via the bios hw monitor coretemp msi center icue speccy all the same stuck at 95C now pc don't shut off i can game and do everything normally so not sure if the temperature read is wrong, but it's been a frustrating couple days for sure. so, i came here for you good people to bless me with a solution.
as I am completely and utterly stumped brand-new system 95% of it and still the same temperature issue and I put new thermal paste corsair m30 on the cpu pea size

how is it possible same issue as the Alienware????? the headache is real.

also wondering the pre-built had a i7-11700f in it and going to the ryzen 7 5700G will performance be too different? haven't dealt with amd in a long time.

also, should mention the icue software reads the coolant temp at 30c.
also, all this is with a 12 %load. and fans and pump at max rpm

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You should've just left it alone and sold it off since it was suggested even on Gamer's Nexus that it's pointless buying a hot box with all that money. Room heaters designed to heat rooms, are cheaper than the Alienware R12.

You might want to list the specs to your current system like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard as well.

Since it seems like your latter parts can be salvaged and your build put into a better predicament than what you've stumbled into.

CPU: ryzen 7 5700g
CPU cooler: Corsair icue 150i elite cappalax
Motherboard:Msi b550
Ram:Corsair vengeance 64 gb kit two 32 gb sticks ddr4 3200 mhz
SSD/HDD:western digital 2th m2
GPU:rtx 3070 dell
PSU:Corsair rm850x brand new just got yesterday
Chassis:hyte y60
OS:windows 11
Monitor:two msi 32inch curved 165 hertz
Bios:7C91vAE

I will add The motherboard & cooler are both returnable to Best Buy 350$ I can get back
And I still have about 400$ cash

I still have my Intel i7 11700f cpu
A rtx 3060 12 gb
A Corsair 120 mm aio

And yes I definitely should have just sold it I regret that now multiple lessons learned

-thanks for getting back to me

Are the two pipes entering the radiator located at the highest point in your cooling loop? If so, the pump may be sucking on bubbles of air trapped at the top of the radiator.

Most AIO water coolers contain a small amount of air in addition to the coolant. Air rises naturally to the top of the system. If your pump is sucking more air than water, temperatures will rise.

Are the pump and the radiator fans connected to their respective headers on the mobo? Can you hear the pump motor running?

As I understand it, the pump should not be the highest part in the loop (I prefer big air coolers, e.g. NH-D15).

Is the AIO cold plate mounted correctly on top of the CPU, with a small amount of thermal paste?

There are loads of videos on YouTube showing how to mount AIOs. Check them out.

If you're overclocking your 5700G with PBO, switch it off and see if the CPU cools down.

Any of these scenarios could result in your CPU sitting at 95C.

So the cooler is on the top only place it can mount I’ll add pictures when I get home so yes it’s at the highest point , the cold plate etc is connected properly with pea size thermal paste also the thermal paste was brand new as well

no I don’t hear anything tbh even on max speed the fans faintly but that’s it and the coolant is reading 30c but I had a aio like 10 years ago on my first build was a kraken and I do remember the pump and fan be like a jet engine … so pump doa ??

And I didn’t change settings so if it automatically is happening not sure but no I don’t want to overclock I of course want to leave the boost on tho

I’m not really an amd person at all haven’t been since the fx series came out and had bad experiences

I also tried disabling the cpus intergrated gpu as I use a dedicated to see if temps would go down but no stays stuck at 95 c

Honestly thinking if possibly it’s the cpu it’s not new by any means

I got two weeks to return the mobo and cooler if needed

I should have mentioned the problematic orientation is with the radiator mounted vertically, e.g. behind the front panel, with the pipes at the top.

There shouldn't be a problem if the radiator is mounted horizontally, at the top of the case.

If you're not fully conversant with modern AMD overclocking techniques, check the BIOS and see if Precision Boost Override is ON. It can be a bit confusing to work out what AUTO means for this setting. I believe Auto means PBO is off by default, but I could be wrong.

Ok yeah it’s just mounted normally at the top and I know of some overclocking but I personally don’t bother doing it I’ll check the bios when I get home but I don’t remember even seeing that option

one thing in the bios I changed was the ram xmp profile 1 from 2133 to 3200 that’s about it

Either cpu cooler improperly installed or a bad cpu cooler (dead pump, clogged cpu block).

Reinstall cpu cooler properly.
If that doesn't help, then get a new cpu cooler.
you know it turned out to be the cpu cooler due to it not coming with a manual i youtubed it and installed it exactly like the video issue is the black plastic mounts that hold the backplate youtube guy said use them for the install and of course figured he was right becuase there was no other brackets or backplates with the cooler that would work ....

the black plastic pieces were actually making it have a very small gap and the cool plate was not touching the CPU at all I removed the pieces and just put the standoff to the back plate and screwed the CPU cooler on and now my temps are within normal range still warmer then I'm use to about 40 idle and 50s basic use 60 gaming so far a lot better than stuck at 95 as it wasn't even cooling and it's at 4.5ghz/4.9 ghz
granted I do like my intel i7-11700f, but I don't see too much a difference in performance.
mostly for some odd reason my games look better than they did on the prebuilt same gpu though weird ^-^
also, colors are better.

thanks again for all the input

wondering now which way to place the case fans. i have the 3 120 mm on the radiator on top
then two 140 mm on the bottom of the case
then a 120 mm on rear and two the non-glass side right now they are all faced the same exact way ? the x bracket on the fan is faced to outside the case should i switch any of these maybe see a temp difference ?
