So, after going through all the trouble, I've ended up getting my case and I'm just about ready to start!

I just got home from picking up a anti static band from radioshack and I'm planning on putting it onto my case while building, obviously.

But, my question now, is that my room is carpeted, and I was thinking about putting my new and old system on my build and do the swapping there. I have 2 anti static bags to set my parts on while I'm swapping but I just want to ask you guys if it'll be okay doing it on my bed?

I have the option to do the build on my kitchen table, but I really don't feel like getting yelled at for making a mess, haha.

Thanks for your help guys!

You should be fine. It's good to be cautious but in all my years of PC building and upgrading I have yet to fry a component and I often do not wear the bracelet. use common sense. Don't go shuffling your feet on the carpet and touch the case once in a while. Also, if you can, do your build in your bare feet.
