Hi, i got a computer that i built a few weeks ago and it has been working good but last week when i got home from work it didnt turn on so i opend the front and saw that the wires for the on off button was loose so i rewired the reset button as start button and it worked for a while then computer started shutting itself of. the case wiring is without doubt the problem it also seems like when the different Cables come in Contact with eachoter a small vibration as putting lan Cable or usb Cable in makes computer shut off. i have to keep the front off in a angle to get the computer to turn on so it seems like the wiring is the problem. each Cable from the front has one Cable each and it seems like when they come in Contact they turn the computer of. the wiring from the case .
problems started with the on off button locking up so i had to open the front up many times

right now i got it working again after thinking motherboard or psu died but its without a doubt the case wiring causing problems. i never seen this thin wires and messy Connections on a computer from the front .
so im convinced its the case wiring or could it be anyting else? i probably have to get a new case or could i replace the Connectionsfrom front panel?

the reason i Think its the case is because it was sold as a returned case with lower price so im guessing that guy had the same problem as me. there are aslo wires from the start button that goes to the reset button that is loose.
i tried reseating motherboard but didnt make a difference. right now its not turning on at all . i guess it could be the motherboard to but since i had good temps all the time and no sign of problems except for Graphics drivers crashing.
im not toally surei gues it could be motherboard or psu to?

i did some tests tried psu working in a Another computer so i guess its not the psu then i tried psu with the new computer and first no response when pressing the Power button then i tried the short pins with screwdriver and it booted up and was on for a few minutes in bios . i cut Power and did short pins one more time and it worked again it did only work two times though but i guess maybe i didnt hit the pins right the thrid try?
so it seems like it is the case after all there are very short thin wires going from Power button down to reset button and then to the Control board two of them are now off so it seems like it is the case wiring.
could it still be motherboard since the short pin only worked two times ? any way i need a new case so i guess first step is trying it in new case then ge new motherboard to if it wont work in new case?

i short the pins on jfp1 on the motherboard is that the right way to do it? not sure why it only worked two times it took a few tries to get it working to so maybe im not doing it right?
i will do more tests tomorrow with all parts outside case i only had the psu outside case this time.
is there a possibility that motherboard is shorting out to case i dont get why it was working for a few weeks and working with short pin now if it would be shorting out to case
thanks for your help my friend

i tried motherboard outside box and it started when shorting pins then i reseated it in case and tried it with reset button wired to Power switch again but it didnt start so i shorted pins again and it worked inside case to.
funny thing is i tried af few more times with the reset button and when pressing it maybe 10 times it starts but there got to be some problem with the wires it only starts when i pull the front panel off
so i guess this got to be the case? after test motherboard and psu im using the computer right now and it seems to work good again except for the
Power button and wires

this was a cooler master elite 342 it seems like alot of waste of time getting a case like this at least good to know that its not the motherboard. i will return this and add 20 30 s to the price and get a better one.
thanks for helping me out

I wouldn't say that case is bad in general, but the wiring on yours is unusual. Cases usually have 2 twisted wires for the Power switch and 2 for the Reset switch. If they share one wire, then reversing one or both connectors on the motherboard may also resolve the issue; that's worth a try.

yeah i suspect that they sold this with parts of wires missing it was sold as returned but in working condition . its got one orange White wire for the Power button and one blue White for the reset button but then there is very small thin wires going from the Power connector to the reset button then to the controller board on the front thats the wires that is loose.

before returning it i tried one more thing and it seem like it worked, i pulled the start button and wires out completely and only left the reset button now its running again, i dont get why the Cables hanging loose from the button stopped it from turning on but now the reset button seems to be working. problems with computer shutting down when inserting usb and Cables is also gone and i havent hand any driver crash from Graphics card yet. could the bad case wires been causing all the problems?
