case without cd drive

Hi guys i want a build a pc in the case NZXT H440, however this case has no slot for a cd drive? so heres my idea i will build the pc as normal but leave the cd drive hanging then i will download all necessary things then i can remove the cd drive and place the side panel back on

Or just download any drivers you need onto a USB and use that instead.
You can also create a Window 7 installer on another USB as well.

I wouldn't leave it literally hanging while you install everything, but yes you can hook it up outside the case and remove it when you're done. Lay it on a box or some thing.

A PC doesn't need a removable to function so yes, people do it all the time.
