Is it a good or bad idea to put cases on carpet in a family home?

I'm thinking of getting a Fractal Define 7, but see that it has a mesh dust filter on the bottom. Would that just clog up my system?

Solution
It is a bad idea.
Even with the best filters, the carpet will be obstructing whatever airflow that comes through the bottom. Especially for the PSU.
I just compared weights of the 2 cases I am thinking of:

Fractal Define 7: 15.9kg
Fractal Meshify C: 6.16kg

That's a huge difference!

Which case would be more resistant to dust? Reviews never seem to talk about dust. The reason for my concern is that my current PC is dying as the GPU's heatsink is clogged with dust. I'm not a hardware enthusiast and am too nervous to try following the youtube instructions that show how to easily fix it.

The define 7 is a way way better case, pull out cleanable filters, hinged front door, you can run with it open for more intensive tasks like gaming for better airflow.

I'd argue the older r6 IS a better case though if its still available to you.

The meshify c is based purely around maximum airflow, the r and define r7 are based around silence.

They absolutely are better cases if you have the room.

Why do you think the R6 is a better case?
