[SOLVED] Cases without 5.25 drive bays?

I see a lot if not all 'new' cases do no have 5.25" drive bays. Should I get a (older) case with one or opt out. What benefits does buying a case without these drive bays give me? Am I missing something?

5.25 inch bays are only used for disk drives, tape drive etc. If you need one of those things there are still case options that have them, Phanteks has alot with them, however when is the last time you used a CD?

You buy a USB key and the need to burn disks evaporate.

If someone really need a CD/DVD RW they buy it external now since an external DVD/CD burner is 25 dollars on Amazon.

If for whatever you need discs then I agree get a cheap external burner or make the switch to far superior thumb drives, which you can buy 4GB ones in packs of 10 for dirt cheap. Again its up to you if you need internal expansion for drive bays, but in 2020 the days of drives is pretty close to an end. Even mass backup tape drives are mainly sold as external devices.

Id want one to watch movies, as windows media player is the best
