Casual Gaming Computer will it work?

My old emachine just died, and I'm sick of premades so I've decided to build my family's new computer. Gaming isn't at the top of the list, but my budget is approximately 1000-1200 and I'm not sure if all the components will work well together. So I decided to run it past some of the tech heads on this board. Thanks for the help in advance! I'm hoping to purchase all the parts off of newegg by the end of today. Here we go!

I'm still not too sure on the case, and I am fine with large criticism, I haven't looked at components for awhile so I'm still not sure what would be a suitable computer for now and last me for awhile. Thanks!

That build looks great, but I'd get a Caviar Black hard drive instead of that Caviar SE.

An HD4770 may be a better option for your video card. It comes -very- close to the 4850/9800GTX, and is a little cheaper, and can also overclock quite far because it uses the newer and cooler 40nm process. When overclocked, it will probably match or beat the 4850/9800 in most cases.

If you wanted to spend a bit more, you could get a Phenom II 955 + AM3 mobo + DDR3 RAM, but that depends on if you think the performance gain will be worth it.

Thanks a ton! I'll definetely check it out. I was looking at the new Phenom II I'm not sure I can dish out that much cash atm, but it may be more viable in the long run.

By the way, do you know if the xigamatek will even fit in that case?! I heard it was huge.

+1 for the 4770. I wouldn't worry about going AM3 ATM, though, especially with the 940s being blown out.
