cat walked on keyboard and now computer is acting wierd

hope somebody out there can help, my cat walked on my keyboard and now i dont have the right click options box showing up any more, and typing is really hard, it keeps missing letters, the text box keeps flashing every time i type a letter and if i keep hold of backspace to delete text i get a little windows pop up at the top of my screen saying press alt and left arrow to go back, also my shift key is acting like the ctrl key, for example if i try to press shift and a for a capital, it will select all text instead.

i think some sort of alternate mode has been activated maybe, but i dont know what the cat pressed to fix it

Cat must have seen you were using PC too much and planned to stop you

there are some truly amazing key combos, some make it so only the number row works though I haven't figured that one out yet.

You could try resetting keyboard: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/reset-keyboard-settings-default-windows

if that doesn't work, you can always set up a new local account, make it admin, copy contents of the old users folders onto c/users/username of the new user. Then all you need to do is set up browsers, steam and onedrive (If you use it)

shift F10 makes right click menu appear, can't see any that make it disappear

Alternate Mode? No right click menu? You are probably in Tablet Mode. Click the box on the lower right hand corner of the screen. If the Tablet Mode is blue, click on it to turn it off. Your right click menu should now work.

That may fix part of your problem, but probably not all because the other things you described are different from Tablet Mode. I'm assuming you have tried a reboot.

Keep us updated so we know what's been fixed and what hasn't.
