Catalog Number Sticker on CPU

Hi,

I'm building a PC for my first time. The CPU is Intel core i7 8700k and the MB is ROG Maximus X Hero.
After installing the CPU I found this annoying catalog number sticker. It is really hard to remove it and I wonder whether it's necessary to remove it or not?
The CPU cooler I intend to put on is Corsair H115i.

yes any sticker on the top of the cpu NEEDS to be removed, get a razor blade and scrap it off then clean the are with alcohol
any of it left will interfere with the transfer of heat from the cpu to thermal past to heat sink
