Also for PHIAL and others there are nice fixes listed in the <A HREF="http://www.ati.com/support/includes/titles/fixed.html" target="_new">'Fixed in this Driver'</A> for the R8500/9100. So you peons of pixeldom get props! :tongue:

Look at Catalyst Maker's comments in the <A HREF="http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?s=5e533ee9a64ae14f189490f534a0f8f7&threadid=33708513&perpage=20&pagenumber=1" target="_new">Official CAT 3.7</A> thread at Rage3D. His reference to the CAT 3.8s makes me hungry for more already. I hope it's not just the 'BIGGEST' (the 3.7s are alo bigger than the 3.6s [by abou 5mb]).

PS, add the Rag3D thread for the nOObs, it's pretty ood reading and really let's people get an idea of what's fixed, what may still be a problem, and they can also see some serious whinning and childishness. Which of course NEVER happens here.

it doesn't mention the black screen you get when you try to get to the menu in counter strike (HL) in d3d (by pressing escape).

so how is this fixed then??

HL/CS ESC-key issue was fixed a while back!

It's only a PAUSE now.

Any further errors refer to VALVE.

i read the part where its an 8 second pause...but if i wait..i keep waiting.

once i wait its impossible to esc right back to game. Instead i'm stuck on a black screen trying hard to end task. which sometimes works.

i was told it was fixed in cat 3.5

But if so...why do i have the problem.

heh, with my old geforce 2...it was in opengl that i got the black screen but in d3d it worked.

I have tried playing HL in opengl and it does not work as well as d3d (whereas with nvidia it was opposite)

now i remember the problem in open gl counter strike...
it defaults to 60 hz refresh rate..even though i have the override on.

strange cause quake 3 runs at the override 85 hz and its opengl also.

of course all the d3d games also work with the override refresh rate.

Yeah some nice small fixes, at least that I've noticed. A few games are running "better" CS, Elite Force2 and I think Im getting slightly more FPS in Morrowind.
