If I even had an Inkling of this I would've waited for them to come out before updating the BIOS. FAQ!

If I can't get the system back to it's old self I'll default to the Backup BIOS and then do a run. and then revert back to the new one and continue fidling. Why couldn't this come out on Friday!?! DAMN!

I'll fiddle with the BIOS and see what happens, but DAMN! I'm mad that this came out today instead of Friday, not mad at ATI or Me, just mad at Fate! Argh!

And once the 4.1's were done I could have simply said, ok I'm suspending the benching while I get everything up to date.

Oh well, live and learn.

Anyone else notice that these are 4.1s not 4.0s, and that 3.10 could have been 4.0.

56K! Ugh! ATI will let you just download the drivers seperately for dial up users.

I love my OOL (cable). The whole 25MB download was 32 seconds.

we thought 4.1 isn't coming until the R420s, guess we're wrong again. Boy do we suck ass when it comes to guessing.

I just installed the 3.10s geez.... if there's no performance improvement, i'll hug my 3.10s for a little longer

Was fairly easy just set backup BIOS as the start up BIOS (I'll do that for this last set of runs, THEN I'll go to the new BIOS, and compare new and old Cat 4.1 as a new starting point).

Anywhoo, off to swap display drivers and such. Likely not back until midnightish.

I had no problem with them. But no fix to Vulpine either.

Morrowind, still chugging away fine; NHL2003 still fine; Halo Fine; GTA VC fine; Savage Demo fine; COD demo fine (just played it again to test)

As for my 3Dmk01 overclocks, I haven't run it in a LONG time. I broke 12K and then I just left it. I tend to only benchmark now for the Cat review. All my rivals are either defeated or running far superior rigs now

. 12Kwas a goal, as was 30K in Aquamark, and 4K in 3Dmk03 (blew past that when going against you, as did you).

Anywhoo, maybe I'll make another run for the upper deck later in the week. I really want to get this new BIOS tweaked before trying a serious run again.

This driver requires Windows XP Service Pack 1 or higher to be installed.

boooooooooooooooooooooo. think ill break down and buy xp. "but jihiggs! dont tell me your going to go down the dark path!!!" oh but im not, my freind can get legal copies of xp pro from his college for 10 bucks! thats right.. lol. i think they get that deal cause its in seattle, and ms is in seattle so i guess they got a deal or somthing. i know, i know, you can slipstream sp1, get a hack or a number of things you can do to get around it, but im tired of jumping through hoops, 10 bucks is just fine.

BTW, that version of XP is likely the Academic Version (same as I have on my editing rig), but it will not allow you to upgrade to a standard version afterwards. Only another Academic version can be layed over top of it *cough* legally *cough*.
