Hi, I need help installing the latest AMD Radeon HD Mobility 5000 Series display Driver, the first time I updated my display drivers to the latest I did it sucessfully but I had a huge fps drop in games, I thought it wasn't properly installed so I followed some guides to fix corrupted drivers that I saw here at tom's hardware and it ended up making it worse, now everytime I try to install the drivers screen goes black during the installation. However If I use only the Intel Graphics drivers I'm able to use the computer correctly. Before I got this problem my Display Drivers were ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470, and I could run everything properly, but one day while playing CSGO, the game started crashing and the colors on the screen went a bit crazy, then I got a blue screen, when I restarted, the computer wouldn't boot into Windows, so I uninstalled the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 drivers and tried to update them to the latest ones from AMD website. But as I said before I got 10 fps when I used to get @60.

I've made a fresh installation of Win7 and updated all my drivers manually from HP recommended ones for my product, I left the ATI Display ones for last, and they are the problem, everytime I install them I get black screen and can't get to the login screen after I restart. Going into safe mode and uninstalling them seems to fix it so I can acess the computer but I'm still unable to play games, I've been over this for a week or more, please help me.

My laptop is a HP G62-b10sp, Windows 7 64bit operating system, my processor is an Intel Pentium CPU P6100 @ 2.00GHz 2.00 GHz, I have 4GB of RAM. If you need more details tell me.

When I use WhoCrashed it tells me: This was probably caused by the following module: dxgkrnl.sys (dxgkrnl+0x6F63)

Hello to anyone facing the same problem I did, I kinda solved it by following this guide made by KAIJER:

tep 1: Download and install the latest ati graphic driver.AND DONT TURN OFF OR RESTART YOUR COMPUTER AFTER INSTALLATION

Step 2: Then go to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers and rename atikmdag.sys to atikmdag.sys.old.

Step 3: Go to ati directory (usually in C:\ATI) and find the file atikmdag.sy_.

Step 4: Copy the file to your Desktop directory.

Step 5: Open cmd.exe by going to Start -> type cmd in the search box and hit enter.

Step 6: Change the directory to Desktop by typing chdir Desktop.

Step 7: Then, type EXPAND.EXE atikmdag.sy_ atikmdag.sys. Or,

expand -r atikmdag.sy_ atikmdag.sys

Step 8: When the expansion is complete, copy the new atikmdag.sys from your Desktop to

C:\Windows\System32\Drivers

Step 9: Restart your computer and the problem should be resolved.

I hope it works for you too.

Edit- Although I can't install CCC to switch between Intel and ATI Graphics :/
