Hi,
I already have a Western Digital Caviar Blue 500Gb but i'm running out of space. I saw a Caviar Blue 1Tb on sale but there is also a Caviar Black for almost the same price, but it's 500Gb. My question is should I go for more space or a faster hard drive. My hard drive I have now is fine on speed for me right now, but would be choosing the black be a lot better or does it not make that much of a difference.

Solution
There will be a difference in speed, but nothing greater than the difference between a SSD and a HDD. I never recommend WD Black unless you really want it, or the space does not permit 2 drives. The expense of a WD Black can be saved for a WD Blue and half of a 120 GB SSD.

Alright thanks so should I get the Blue? I don't think I want a SSD because I want a lot of space.

WD Blue or Barracuda will do the job and save you some money for future SSD.

Just for future reference, people use low space SSD for OS, software, and some games. Rest of the stuff still lives on a HDD, we recommend that because it's very cost efficient and will be a great difference.

Alright thanks! and also thanks for the links! I'll probably get a SSD in the near future.
