Hello all,
Tried to make the title as clear as possible...

I've never seen this before. A file keeps popping up on my desktop. If I delete it, it comes back up on a reboot. If I go to the Desktop "folder" through quick access, the file is not listed so I can't see the extension, but the default icon is VLC so I assume it's some sort of video file. VLC won't read it though.

The file name is CCAddAppList.

I formatted fully 2 days ago, it occurs since then. Defender is up, Windows Updates are done... I have very limited experience with security / malware, but this seems very strange to me....
Ideas or experience with this issue?

Thanks very much!

Do you have a Brother Printer. If so, it seems to be related to Brother Control Center. I think the issue of appearing on the desktop is an issue with Windows 11. A similar thing happened in this regard.

I would uninstall the Brother Control Center and see if it goes away.

You were absolutely right, that did it. Thanks for your time!
