CCC not displaying fan control

I have installed new drivers each time they have been released and still dont know why i dont have fan control in my CCC. It's two MSI 3870 OC edition's. I use the drivers from ATI and not MSI. Is that the problem? Would really love to control my cards fans ( Rivatuner works for a bit then rev's them up to 100% while gaming and then unable to control them and a hard reboot is needed ). Anyone had this problem? Thanks in advance

fan control only works with the 4800 series cards

There is a regedit where you can display the fan control. I did it before.
