I ran into a wierd problem tonight. I've had my Pioneer DVD-106S drive for a while now, and haven't had any problems with it. I've copied disks off of it, i've run CD's off of it. No problems. Then i tried playing a CD-A, and it comes out sounding like the chipmunks! I can't figure out what's going on. All audio cd's have the same symptoms. I tried running them in my Plextor 16/10/40 drive, but i can't get any sound output on that, so i can't tell if it's the DVD player or something in the system like the soundcard (although i can't imagine why the soundcard would be involved.)
The only thing i can think of is that this is some sort of copyright mechanism. But then why does it let me copy audio cd's from it? And i would think that if this was the case, i would have heard about it since it's such a popular drive.
Anyhow, any info or tips are greatly appreciated!
