Cd drive not recognized but after restart it comes back

if there is two upper and twolower filters do i delete all of them

You may have some missing windows files. First check the connections on the cd. Be sure they're tight and also the cables going to the motherboard. Something may be loose. If everything is connected tight, try a windows repair or system restore point for xp. I just used "restore" to fix a driver problem.
