CD Drive not working

Hi i got Compaq Vista home system and recently i can not play cd ,DVD or burn Cd with my computor.

I have the exact same problem. When I go to my computer the drive is not there.

Double check the cables.

Check to see if it shows in the bottom window of disk management.
