CD DRIVE POBLEMS

MY CD/DVD DRIVE DOES NOT WORK
IT IS A TOSHIBA ODD-DVD SD-R5272
I DON'T KNOW WOT IS WRONG WITH IT BUT LAST TIME I USED UIT WAS WHEN I WAS
BURNING A DVD-R, IT CRASHED IN THE MIDDLE OF BURNING AND WHEN I RESTARTED IT
DID NOT WORK AT ALL, IT CANT EVEN READ ANY CDs.

PLEASE HELP ME TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM AND EMAIL BACK TO ME IN

Number One, do not post in uppercase for in netiquette it is considered
as shouting, very rude, and hard to read.
Number Two, do not insert your email address in Newsgroups for that
leaves you wide open for Spam and malware/spyware.
Finally, it sound as though your CD/DVD has "bit the dust". You could
try to reinstall it. Unplug the PC, open the case and disconnect the power
line to the drive (not the data cable). Plug PC in and reboot. Turn off
PC, open
case again and connect the CD drive and see if XP's plug&play feature
picks it up, it may ask for you to insert the drivers CD. If none of these
instructions work, contact Toshiba.com. Good luck. :~)
