Have finished building my PC. How ever the CD/DVD Rom isnt working. It's not showing up in my menu. Its a Gigabyte Z270 HD3. I have a M.2 SSD & according to what I read when you have that in your PC you cant put your sata cabe into SATA 0 or SATA 1. Help

Solution
Have you installed ALL of the following drivers? ALL of them need to be installed. The Windows native drivers are NOT sufficient, for a lot of hardware.

Chipset:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28182/Chipset-INF-Utility?product=98089

Audio chipset drivers:

http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Driver/mb_driver_audio_realtek_8703.zip

Intel LAN ethernet network drivers:

http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Driver/mb_driver_lan_intel_23.5.zip

And, if your motherboard BIOS is older than version F9d, you should update to the latest version.
Are you sure it isn't working? Have you inserted a disc and then checked Windows file explorer to see if the drive shows up?

Empty CD and DVD drives will typically NOT show up in Windows file explorer, but they should still show up in device manager, so looking there to see if they are recognized is a good place to start.

Hi. There's power going to it. The tray opens & closes. Green light flashes then stops but still not playing disk. Have looked in Device Manager & nothing is showing up at all. Have read so much on them not showing up in win 10 after a new installation. Some say go into BIOS & check there. You dont really need a driver for this. Usually plug & play.
