Question that I hope you can help me with.
System: Cyberpower PC, I7-2600K, 16GB, Motherboard(MB) Gigabyte P67A-UD4-B3,
CD: 24X Double Layer Dual Format DVD+-R/+-RW + CD-R/RW Drive
Windows 8.1 PRO, Fast machine working great!!! Until...
MB has 4 Sata-2 ports and 2 Sata-3 Ports. Pay attention please.
The CD/DVD/ROM had a blue cable and was installed in a Sata 3 port.
The other Sata-3 port has a HD in it. Both S3 ports occupied.
However, I just purchased a 3TB 6GBs Sata 3 HD, which needs the port.
So I switched the port for the CD/DVD/ROM to a Sata-2 port and used a black sata cable which is compatible. The CD/DVD/ROM works fine on the Sata-2 port.
HOWEVER, when i connect the new drive to the now available Sata 3 port, The drive is recognized, but the CD/DVD/ROM is not. Like the CD/DVD/ROM is not there, its not accessible.
How can I get the CDROM it to be recognized?
What did I do wrong?
