use the hidden recovery partition if you need to restore to factory settings

Power off your laptop
Press and hold the 0 (zero) key
While holding it power on the laptop.

if its bootable then it has software to make your own recovery dvd

if you can get into windows, search for "recovery media creation". If you cannot, check for recovery partition. If you have a bad HDD, call Toshiba
