CD-Rom No show

Twice in one night I rebooted my K6-3 400 /Asus p5A moBo and the CD rom (Creative Labs 48X ) did not boot, Wnot in the device manager. I rebooted and it came up. I have had this problem in the past with this MOBO could it be the cable or is this a problem some others have had too. Any help would be appreciated. bruce

It might be a loose cable - check it.

Perhaps try setting your IDE device delay to 5 seconds in your BIOS. I'm wondering if on a reset your drive may be spinning, and for some reason isn't seen by the controller. This may work for your drive.
