Hey guys, never really post on forums or anything but I can't find any solutions online to my issue. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, going through reg keys and in fact, couldn't even find the reg keys windows recommends to fix, but here's t he low down. Basically, I have a good feeling that the issue isn't a sensor one but a driver issue, and I took some pictures of some things I thought were strange and which furthered my curiosity.

So I was wondering, is this a driver issue since it states "CD Drive" and "CD Driver" or should I be looking somewhere else? Also I know a lot of people use this specific asus player and that a lot of people face issues with it, so if anyone's experienced similar issues and has a solution that worked for them, I'm very open to listen. Thank you!

Yes - thank you.

My thought was/is that some other company made the optical drive and then Asus just branded it with their own name. Maybe made some firmware changes as well..... Sometimes a driver from the original or real manufacturer will work.

Or someone else following your post may be able to identify a driver that worked for them.

Were you able to get to the following link within Asus?

https://www.asus.com/us/Optical-Drives-Storage/BW12B1ST/HelpDesk_Download/

If the older drivers do not work then use the Customer Service email to request assistance - hopefully they will be able to respond with a link to the correct driver.

Your "Driver File Details" screen indicates that you are using a CD-ROM driver (cdrom.sys) from Microsoft.

Go to the ASUS website to see if you can find a current drivers for the ASUS player.

Match the driver to the player model and OS (32 or 64 bit).

Thanks for responding Ralston. I actually did try that as one of the first things I did. I went to the asus website and also a website that hosts asus drivers, but they didn't have the drivers for this bluray player, I can't find them anywhere. So I guess my question is that if this is in fact a driver issue, do you know if there is an alternative driver that I can find anywhere? I mean this is a common blu ray drive is the thing, so I don't know how other people have surpassed similar issues.

What make and model Bluray player? Any lables on it?

May well be some third party generic product....

If you can, post a couple of photographs of the player. Someone may recognize the player's real source/manufacturer and you would try that manufacturer's drivers.

Google anything that looks like a model number or some unique identifier. Try the serial number - there are websites the match serial numbers to manufacturers. See what turns up.
