CD WRITER PURCHASE DECISION

HELP!
I HAVE 3 OPTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM
1.SONY CRX160E
2.PHILIPS PCRW1208
3.SAMSUNG SW-224B

THESE R THE ONLY OPTIONS I GOT.WHICH WOULD BE BETTER AMONGST THESE.AM INTERESTED IN BURNING UNBRANDED MEDIA MOSTLY AND NEED WINXP SUPPORT.
PLEASE HELP ME DECIDE??

If I was stuck to choose between these, I'd go for the Philipps. Try hard to find a Plextor or a Yamaha instead.

Depends on the Operating System.
For W95/98 get something that has nero burning bundled with it.

For XP get the Philips PCRW2010 or DVRW2010 and let XP provide the software.

For 2000, don't know.

There is also a very cheap LG DVDreader/CDwriter for sale in the UK (<$200). It works.

I'd have to disagree with this, because when you burn some files to a CD, it caches it to your hard drive and then burns it, which means additional time. On the other hand with Nero or Easy CD Creator, you can burn files straight to a CD.

I would really try to look for a Lite-On. They have the most bang for your buck.

yeah .. just order lite-on from newegg.com ...

i got mine 24x lite-on from newegg.. and loving it.. so far..

no coaster yet.. and ..it's dang. fast... takes about 4 min to burn 80 min CD..
