Hi,

i got a corsair carbide spec-02 case and im trying to put the front cover back on after installing my cdrom (yes i need one because i have old games and stuff on cd).

But either the case hole is not wide enough or the cdrom is too wide, i dont know if the specs on cdroms have changed in the last 6 years but i assumed they were all standard.

Anyway here is the image of what im dealing with:

should i trim the case just a tiny bit with a razor blade so the cdrom will fit? Or what is the proper way to do this?

Remove the cd-rom drive, install the front cover and then reinstall the cdrom drive.

Some front bezels have tabs to prevent a cd-rom drive from being installed too far into the case such that they don't fit flush with the bezel.

just a quick update on this, i eventually had to file alittle off that edge anyway, once i got my fan controller installed it meant that i would have to take my fan controller out and my cdrom out just to remove the front cover to clean the filter. Thats not gonna work for me. So i took a smooth file and it took me about an hour of filing down that one side enough so that it will fit. Its a bit of pressure to get it on there so maybe ill take just a bit more off, but it does go on there now and you cant even tell i filed anything at all. I think thats a bad design and im surely gonna tell the MFG about it.
