Bought a cellphone recently. Has 4GB memory. Previous cellphone had the same amount of memory and more apps installed on it and still had a good amount of memory left. However, on the new phone, for some reason I barely have any memory as if it's eating away itself!!! What is wrong and how can I fix this issue?

P.S
I receive a notification every now and then informing me about 'Internal Storage".

Solution
Applications are growing in size update by update.
But also, you have to take into consideration that in the 4GB you have the system (Android I suppose) and the applcations. (And 4GB for today cellphone is very little)
So basically the 4GB is divided into 2 parts, the System data, and the user data. If in this new phone, the system data is bigger, you will have less space available for data.
You can check that in Settings > Storage that there is like a "System Data" that occupy lot of space.

Also, as Snipergod87 said, it will be very useful to know which model you are saying.

4GB Internal storage.

Some applications store extensive amount of data on your internal storage, like a video game unpack its assets to the internal storage, or external storage(if guided to do so). And beware about the data you might have with the apps like Whatsapp, facebook & some others, every media shared from you or to you is most likely backed up on your phone's internal storage.

Solution :-
If possible install or move apps on SD card in place of internal storage. ( But it can slower the access to these apps a li'l bit )
If possible keep deleting unnecessary data from the storage.
If the OS installed on your phone has covered a lot of space, then try using some Lightweight Custom OS versions. Like for android, you can try CyanogenMod or Paranoid or MIUI ROMs. These all can be as heavy as the native Android but can be tailored to suite the need. And you will find one suiting your requirements. ( Flashing a Custom OS may void the warranty, or if done inappropriately, you can end up with a dead device. So beware! But a Custom Android has its own relish entitled with it. :)

Suggestion:- Kindly do put more information about your device whenever you upload a question, it'll definitely help others to sort out the problem in a more specific manner.
