CEmod - Hell note

I forgot to mention.
In the Chaos Empire mod, in Hell, the soj counter is running. (yes, even
in SP)
That's right, the clone can show up even if you are only in act 1 of hell.
I have gotten the "Diablo walks" or whatever it is message twice already.
Needles to say, I 'bailed', since, according to the author, the clone -
in hell - is level 110, and I am 'only' level 92 so far.

Actually, my lvl 92 bowazon offed the Diablo Clone last night, also in
Hell Act 1. It wasn't easy but it certainly wasn't all that hard. I
plan on writing a post when I get home.

In the meantime, if he walks the earth again, why not give it a try?
You might be pleasantly surprised. And the rewards are well worth it.

My level 82 Zealot had clone done to 1/4 life but I kept having to run back
to town so I finally gave up. He has spawned in 4 of 4 hell games so
far....

Well, sounds like you're really getting up there my friend. I'm still
in NM and haven't gotten to the game much lately. Been reading the
posts, tho. And, I have yet to find an SoJ. I've never seen one and I
am clueless as to what they're all about and now you say it starts the
counter for the DC. Well, I guess I still have lots to learn.

Ok, I am pretty sure that you know they are unique (gold) rings that give
you plus one to all skills, right?
I have at least a dozen or more already, I sell them back if they have
lower than 5% life leech now.
You should be able to come up with one in under an hour if you gamble with
a character that is around level 30. If your character is under 26 forget
it, and if it is over 35 or so, well, you can still get them, but the
chances go down. There are better rings in this mod, so I don't even wear
them anymore. Heh, I should start keeping them all, and save them up and
one day start selling them back and see if it affects the counter. 😉

Well, ok, you talked me into it. I will try if/when it happens again. I
have been playing HC so long I keep forgetting I am playing SC in the mod,
so even if I *do* die it is not the end of the world. I am trying to
finish the game with only the '2 times died' on my teddy bear, which both
happened in act 1 normal.
That HC mode _REALLY_ teaches you to play conservatively, ya know?

Are you telling me that they don't specifically say Stone of Jordan on
the ring? Are they ANY unique ring with +1 to all skills? I've been
looking for rings that say specifically Stone of Jordan and I've never
seen one.

I looked at the site for CE, and didn't see that they changed the SOJ. If
I base myself on the Arreat Summit, you don't keep any SOJ you find! 🙂

Stone of Jordan
Ring
Required Level: 29
+1 To All Skill Levels
Increase Maximum Mana 25%*

Oops, my bad, when I said I sell them back I had a brain cramp. It is the
Eye of Etlich amulet that I sell back if its mods are less than stellar.
Diane, yes, they say / are labeled 'Stone of Jordan'. If your character
is too low a level (under 25 or so) they will not show up at all, if your
character is too high a level they will show up, but less often. They
require level 27 to equip, so plus or minus 4 levels from there is just
about right to get them to show up as often as possible.

I think he will show up in every game, if you wait long enough.
I like the way the SoJ counter keeps running even if you pause the game.
If you put it on pause and go away for an hour, when you come back the
counter has all of a sudden jumped a bunch of numbers, where before it was
counting by ones. (hit 'm' to see all the messages)

I'm level 59. They should have shown up by now.

They are pretty dang rare, I figure I gambled about 200-300 rings to get
one SoJ.
Oh, and, I seem to be pretty lucky in this game, so it may be even more
for other people. Then again, maybe I just *think* I do pretty good and
others may do even better. <shrug>

LoL, don't let it become an obsession. Like I said before, there are
'better' rings in this mod. Got to love those (blue) plus one to all
skill rings with no other mods, they also have no level requirement so
they are good to have for starting new characters and their mercenaries.
And, have you seen them with plus one to two char type skills? They have
plus one to barb and plus one to necro, or any two other char types, not
sure what good the second char skill would be good for (other than
whatever char type you are currently playing), unless it was to try to add
to some of the skills that the doll stash gives you.

Having a + to 2 different char skills makes it twice a likely that you
can actually use the ring. If the char you find it with doesn't
want/need it then maybe your secondary char will be able to use it.
Having said that, I wish to hell I could trust my shared stash! LOL

Umm.... why don't you just put stuff in the 'personal' stash and only
transfer it to shared if you want to use it with another specific
character.
Just put everything in personal, then if you decide you want a specific
bonearmor/braid/carapace for your next necro, only put that into shared
just before starting/switching to the necro.
Just a thought.

I've seen those. I can't understand what good a plus to a skill that's
not in the skill tree for my necro would be. It's not as if I'm allowed
to use it, like BO, using it for the necro even tho it's a Barb skill.

I still find it empty after something happens..such as a hard shutdown.
I am trying to be very careful, I don t leave the game running
unattended anymore. Its very frustrating. I tried the shared stash
again today, whoosh! its all gone. always everything beyond whatever
page I was on when I go back to normal stash.

Hmm... I wonder if you should be more 'respectful' of the stash,
personally, I always make sure the seat is down, err... I mean that I make
sure the little chest icon in the bottom left corner is closed, meaning I
am back to my personal stash page, before I exit the stash and especially
before I exit a game. Probably has nothing to do with your problem, but
who knows?

I will be more careful about that in the future. However I normally
stay out of the shared stash now anyway.
I did make a post on the chaos empire forum. I really didnt get much
help there. It is now going more in the direction of the evils of

I wonder if the mod somehow 'remembers' you as a 'cheater' because of your
prior use of mh?
And, if so, would uninstalling and reinstalling the mod clear that or not?
Or is it somehow written into your characters file so you would have to
start all over again to clear it?
btw, what CE forum did you post to? I don't see it at phrozenKeep. Are
you multi-lingual and posted it at the german one?
