Hello everyone,

I'm looking at laptops for a mate of mine. I saw a centrino 1.6 I think, with a 9700 ati mobility graphics chip, 60gig hdd, 17 inch widescreen, dvd burner yadayadayada. But how does this stack up in gaming terms to say a p4 3.2ghz laptop, or a XP M chip?

I know the centrino thing is all about wireless and battery life, but is it any good for games? Because I do know its not the usual intel mhz rubbish, its more like the amd system, less is more with this Dothan chip.

Cheers,

Chris

The only thing I can say to you is that I can play with no problems C&C Generals: Zero Hour (1024x768, graphics @ max), on my 1.4GHz Banias with a Radeon 9000. So based on my experience I can say that your 1.6 with Radeon 9700 will be a monster in games !!!
