Certain files missing after system restore

Hey guys I am a bit stumped here... I installed an indie game the other day and it prompted me to install various programs like toolbars and what not so it was obviously a virus of sorts. Anyway I did a system restore because I couldnt delete every file that it installed and I get back and a certain files from my download folder are missing... Does anyone know whats going on? There is a folder in my downloads folder which had exes and data files, but now only 4 .BIN files remain and everything else is gone... Please help!
