Question CF Card Issues

I have a 4gb Sandisk CF card that I had been using in my Canon EOS 10D camera. It stopped being readable last night (not sure why). I downloaded some recovery utilities and they were able to scan the card and find the jpg files. Problem is they all charge to unlock the recovery.

Does anyone know a good shareware tool or existing Windows utility to recover these files?

Might want to state what apps you've tried thus far so we don't toss in free to try sort of apps or apps that have a capacity limit prior to going for purchase. I used this in the past though now I just make sure I have backup drives/disks in case one or more fail. To note, you may also want to ditch the card after data recovery. Often times we're given the false sense that everything can be recovered via an app but in reality if your CF card itself is dead/damaged then the only possible outcome is to chuck it in the bin.
