Chaging new mother board and GPU & Clean format

Here's a newbie question again from me, im using asus h87m -e mobo and asus GTX 650 and i will upgrade my mobo and gva to msi z87 g45 and GTX 7** or R9 2**. And i will use my 3 months old 500g HDD seagate.

my question is should i format first before putting it the new mobo & gpu ?



or

gonna put the new mobo , gpu, same time with the unformat hdd that has OS?


just wanna avoid any issues/error.

I would format , then build and put a fresh clean install of windows on the new board.

correct me if im wrong, so im gonna build the new system and put the old hdd and all components - Boot from the disc or flash drive - Then do fresh format?

Should work for you, sometimes I pre-format on the old system.
