Hey guys

So as the title states my desktop isn’t sending a signal for visual. I’ve tried two different monitors (including an HDMI connection to my TV) and still nothing. I don’t have any other computer to test my video card on and there is no onboard graphics card on my motherboard.

One of the first things I’ve done was follow the Sticky Thread “No Post/Boot Checklist” and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong or what I’ve missed but still no visual. I’ve read a ton of other posts about other users have similar problems and still not found success. I get the same results after booting with only one memory stick.

Here’s the strange part…It’ll sometimes (once-in-a-blue-moon) boot up randomly but never make it past windows repair or installing a new OS (which I was in the process of doing after it started acting up). Most of the times that it does Boot it is lying flat which made me think that something is not seated correctly when it’s standing. I tried reseating everything and again still nothing.

The next thing I thought of was maybe my CPU fan isn’t completely situated on so I removed it and placed it back on but still nothing (it also doesn’t help that the teeth on one of the plastic push pins bent off and doesn’t clip completely into the motherboard). I’m thinking of purchasing a new one but want to absolutely make sure that it is in fact that seeing as I’m a broke ass grad student.

I’m weary in thinking that It’s the motherboard or CPU because it wouldn’t start up to begin with but again I could be wrong. My video card is fairly new and I’ve never had issue with it before. I recently purchased the power supply new and immediately after installing it things were working fine but apparently not for long.

The specs are listed below…and I would really really appreciate the help, I’m running out of ideas and would love to see my baby back up and running.

Thanks!

What you are experiencing, is undoubtably PSU issues. Reevaluate your PSU and upgrade it.

My general rule of thumb is that you want to figure out your required wattage and then chuck on an extra 100-200 watts. Buy the best efficiency you possibly can, I like the 80+gold and if its suitable for your system, go modular or semi modular.

And for the LOVE OF GOD do not buy a cheap PSU. It literally is the backbone of your entire system and can cause damage and faults if a cheaper cruddy brand is used.
