In CoN and CoN:RTA, what does an accessory with magic resistance do for you?
If an enemy is casting fire, or ice, or poison at you, does magic resistance
come into play, or do you need to have a fire, or ice, or poison resistant
accessory equipped?

You have a base resitance. Each addition to a specific type of damage gives
an addition to resit it completely. Even if you fail the check the % you are
resitant will be deducted from the whole amount. That is, pending they
follow the same game mechanics used in Baulder's Gate etc.

i.e. 100 fire damage, and you have 10% resitance. so 1 in 10 to avoid 100
pts damage. If you fail, the check you only take 90 pt's (100 - 10%) if you
had no resiatnce, then you would take full 100.

I myself beefed up my primary and secondary stats over resitances. The game
isn't that difficult w/o them.
