chance to cast xxx build

hi there,

just for some new fun, i started a new char who will be outfitted with gear
with a lot of chance to cast stuff on it. tiamats shield would be an
example. i won't like to go with things that cast curses, as they just will
keep overriding themselves, main goal would be hydras, frost nova and things
like that, curses play only a 2nd role.

the char is a paladin, conviction as main aura for all those elemental
casts, should be based on the avenger build.
i'm looking for some good fun in nm mode, he doesnt really need to cut it in
hell. i wouldn't complain though :)

here some questions:

(1) Somebody already done that Cast build ? I'm sure! :D Is there a build
guide then ?

(2) Which gear can you suggest, which have a good chance to cast good stuff
?
For runewords, please exclude runes higher than vex.

(3) Does it make sense to max Conviction ? (i found it to be great at lvl10
already)

(4) Will a freezer merc with my conviction support work fine ?
I used the freezers only for the slowdown effect yet, but it *could* maybe
do damage too ?

thanks,
stefan

thanks.
voice of reason looks good and is affordable too.
i will definitely try that one as soon he hits the lvl43 (38 yet).
with rift it's a little more trouble, it's only meant to be made in a
polearm or scepter. i won't go without shield, so only option is the
scepter. from the 3 different scepter types only one can be used (2*3) size
to have the necessary amount of sockets. what makes it worse is, the elite
scepters of this kind get 5 socks from larzuk instead of 4 ;)

My zealot uses voice of reason atm, and the FO is a very good friend.
I used it from act1 to act5 hell and it's does a pretty good job of
killing everything thats not CI.
I will not change before i get the perfect weapon for oath on him, like a
eth war spike or eth scourge with 4 sockets.

btw. how do you reload charges on a eth runeword?

oath slowly makes me mad :D made my 2nd now and again i got almost the low
end.
well, even at low end they give great damage, that's the good side.
my 2nd one has 220-320 again made in an eth small crescent.

Hehe, what did you make your Oath runeword in?

Check this one out http://users.zoominternet.net/~shorts/oath

If I would have got the full ED, top damage would be pushing 800 )

eth small crescent, it's my favourite.
people seem to be favourizing eth berserker axe, but i have never even seen
such an item - i doubt it's in the game ;)
eth small crescent has about 50-100 damage at normal attack speed.

yes, that's about the same ed my two oath have.

> If I would have got the full ED, top damage would be pushing 800 )

the eth small crescent would have 270-430 about for one-hand, no bad either
:D

I've got a 5 socket Berserker, but not ethereal. I'm hunting an ethereal
Feral Axe now, I'd like to try Beast in that one (for a Werebear).
