Hey there guys

I managed to get water on my motherboard while my computer was off without realising (yes I know, I'm an absolute knob, it's a long story). I then proceeded to power it on, and the computer booted, but then almost instantly powered off. I then found that the computer would boot, and found water on my motherboard with a small fizzing sound. I'm pretty sure i have ruined my motherboard by short circuiting it, however, i was wondering whether my cpu and ram would still be safe to use.

Anything helps,
Thanks guys

It's not that you can't use the components in it, it's just that if they are damaged they could end up damaging your new motherboard too which would be a problem i'm sure... ;p
Yeah, most likely your motherboard has been fried...

Not sure if your CPU and ram will still work tbh, i would assume they broke as well, could depend on where the water hit the motherboard, if it wasn't near those components then maybe they will still work but tbh i would assume it's all gone.

Do you think it would be safe to test them if i bought another motherboard?
