Change CPU in old-ish ASUS ROG G56JK laptop.

Heyo! I want to upgrade my ASUS ROG G56JK laptop. Does anyone have experience changing the CPU (and/or motherboard) and the GPU in such a system? Is it doable? And is it wise for someone with next to no PC-building experience to attempt? Please, give me tips. Thanks a bunch

In my experience of using laptops, some of the CPU and GPU are wielded on the motherboard and can't be replace. That's why you have to choose the suitable components when you are purchasing a laptop.

Regarding your questions, it is doable and I think it depends on what laptop you are using. You can go to the manufacturer website to check your CPU socket and whether it allows you to upgrade your CPU.

Ok let say your laptop is compatible, it doesn't mean that you have the green light to upgrade it. Tearing down your laptop to get access to your motherboard is not easy and as I mentioned before, it all depends which laptop you are using. Please do some research about your laptop to find any successful case and do it with some who KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

Generally the only thing is easily upgradable is probably the RAM/HD.

I've been searching on Asus ROG forums and a guy has a list of possible laptop CPU upgrade list and your laptop isn't on the list which means it's a BGA CPU, hence no upgrade paths.

Thank you all for the help. Guess I'm stuck with a slowpoke for a laptop Would an SSD speed things up so I'd feel it, mayhap?

Probably. If you are using an HDD, a SSD would be a really good upgrade. other than that, I think you are kinda stuck
