Good Afternoon,

I recently ran out of space on my 500GB ssd, I cloned the system using Easeus onto a 1TB hdd

it is running ok, but the performance is horribly poor. Windows still thinks the hard drive is an SSD, is there anyway to change it so it thinks it is a normal hard drive not an SSD? All the google options i find are to upgrade to SSDs not the other way around.

After Christmas, just buying a new high capacity SSD is not an option and I need the space.

I would prefer to not reinstall windows if at all possible.

Laptop is Lenovo Ideapad 700 8gb ram (now) 1tb hdd, [running Windows 10]

Thanks

I know this, and when i can get a new SSD i will be changing back, but right now, I NEED capacity over performance, I just need better performance than waiting for 5 minutes for search to find a simple text file. Now i have changed how windows is seeing the drive and it is actually optimizing it, performance is now bearable.

before i ran it, media type in optimise drives was Solid State, after i ran it, it said Hard Disk Drive, i drew the conclusion that it changed it...
