Change key functions with Microsoft keyboard

Hi. I recently got a Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard. It has back and forward buttons as well as play/pause and volume control buttons on it. All the buttons work fine but the back/forward buttons are for going back and forward while browsing the net and don't work for Windows Media Player. Is there any way to change the function of the two keys so they will skip songs in Windows Media Player 11. Maybe a program like Setpoint for Logitech?

If I transfer files from one computer to another over a home network does it use bandwidth?
