Hello, i want to install a HD3850 AGP in mine Windows7 Ultimate and remove the Nvidia card, my mobo is a Abit IC7-G, i get only make a "good" install once time, i mean that if i remove all nvidia drivers and after that i install catalyst drivers the ATI dont want boot in Win7, i get the ATI partially works ok one time installing different catalyst drivers, but, after some minutes Win7 hangs.
Seems install the HD3850 is hard because driver problem in win7, please if anyone have knowledge to install this card, and which specific version of drivers is needed por win7 will be great know it.

Solution
Problem is that...i cant plug ATI card because win7 ultimate hangs when boot, then first i will need, i think;

1. Remove nvidia drivers
2. Install some ATI drivers (some that dont hang win7) that works or fixed in win7
3. Change the cards, Nvidia for ATI

If i dont do that way...and ATI card is plugged in (with no ATI driver installed), win7 hangs when boot up, but also hangs if after windows 7 is loaded, sometime after, minutes, using another drivers for that HD3850, then i assume problem are the drivers, get correct one that solve the problem in win7.

Maybe i should use any driver cleaner to begin all process and make sure there is not any drivers error.

Solution
Hello, sorry for delay in reply, i desinstalled all ATI and NVIDIA software drivers manually, after that i desinstalled ATI driver using drive sweeper in safe-mode, i rebooted system, then i desinstalled in safe-mode the NVIDIA driver, i checked option in drive sweeper that told "desinstall and power off to change for another card". After that with system turned off i changed the Nvidia card for the Ati HD3850 AGP, and:

-Normal Win7 Boot, the win7 hangs once finished load.
-Safe Mode Boot Win7, same, win7 hangs.

Then, if any driver is present and win7 still hang with the ATI, i think i should install the ATI driver-soft first and after that change the card.
I know there is issues with this card in Win7, but should be a way to install this, in older test i get install the HD3850 driver, but still hanged win7 after some minutes, then i assume problem is the driver for win7, any help please?
