Change of Memory, PC Won't Boot

Hi there, I'm rather experienced when it comes to components but this has always been an issue and this time I can't seem to fix it like I have been able to before.

I just got a 32GB kit of RAM to replace my previous 16GB set and when I installed it my PC wouldn't boot at all, it just kept restarting infinitely. I put my old set in and it worked perfectly again, this is the second kit I've tried and I still get the same result.

I used to fix this problem by just swapping the DIMMs but that doesn't work this time.

Motherboard GA-X99-SOC Champion, processor i7-6800K, old memory CMK16GX4M4A2800C16, new memory CMK32GX4M4A2400C14.

If a single stick is causing an issue and you've tried more than one it almost has to be a compatibility issue, I'd update the bios and try again as well

I'm running at SPD defaults at the moment, I've tried resetting the BIOS and that hasn't worked.

Tried that, it's the same as when there's no RAM installed at all: gets to code 60 and shuts off, it's barely on for a second. Also tried using a stick of old and new, same result.

Then it should work as I see that exact RAM is on the Memory Support List for that Motherboard. What is odd is the motherboard specs says it supports up to 64GB of ram maximum. Given that there are 4 Dimm slots, that would imply 4x16 sticks, yet the Memory Support List only lists 8GB and lower RAM sizes.

For your new RAM the Memory Support List shows the native frequency is 2133mhz. To run it at 2400mhz, do you have to enable XMP in the BIOS? You may know more about this than I do, just throwing out ideas.

I'm already using the latest BIOS, there is a beta BIOS that has been around for a while now which lists official support for "Core i7 6000 series CPU" instead of just "Support 2016 Q2 coming new CPU", not sure if that would change things but I don't like using beta firmware.

I usually run my current kit at 2400MHz without XMP, XMP messes with my base clock so I don't use it.

You might try XMP just to prove the new RAM is not defective (Highly unlikely as they would have tested them together to sell as a "kit").

I see there was an earlier BIOS version to accept 16GB sticks, so that clears up my earlier question. I guess the Memory Support List is just not up to date. Anyways since you are using 8GB sticks, it is a non-issue here.

Is your old memory a 2x8GB set? If so you were probably running in dual-channel mode. The motherboard supports quad-channel mode. You may have to enable XMP and quad-channel with the old memory, and then install the new memory. Again, you seem pretty experienced - I am just throwing things out there.

I posted the model number of my old kit, it's a 4x4GB set.

I'll try enabling XMP before changing memory, but I doubt it's going to work.

Sorry, I didn't look up the info about your old kit, was focusing on the new one. This has to be a "setting" issue, as it is highly unlikely that all 4 of the new sticks are defective, given that you have tried them one at a time also. When doing that test, did you use the DIMM slot specified for using only 1 stick? Maybe that doesn't even matter nowadays.
