change processor & memory

i have been using dell inspiron 1545 since 2009.now i would like to like to upgarde my processor to core i7 and ram to 8 gb.it is poosible or not if not which type of processor and ram i can be upgarde.

Since it is a laptop, you can not upgrade the cpu at all. As for the ram, your going to pay out of your ass for it. The only ram upgrade kits for 8 gigs I've seen are 130+ dollars.

That Inspirion supports 4GB memory max, so that's a "no go" on 8GB RAM upgrade. I believe that the CPU is not soldered so you could upgrade it, but not to an i7. You could use this one: http://ark.intel.com/products/40380/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-P8800-3M-Cache-2_66-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB
Also you could get a big performance gain by installing a SSD.
